Trip ItineraryDay 1 Airport Bangkok hotel transfer with private vehicle, driver. Arriving and check-in to the hotel in Bangkok. Enjoy lunch at local Thai restaurant (not included in tour price). Dinner at your leisure (not included in tour price) Day 2 Discover three of Bangkok's finest temples: Wat Traimit, with its 900-year old solid gold Buddha, Wat Pho, with its reclining Buddha and traditional massage school, and the Grand Palace. Inside its 61-acre complex you'll encounter what is undoubtedly one of the wonders of the world, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha (Wat Phra Kaew). Enjoy lunch at local Thai restaurant (not included in tour price). In the evening an explosion of lights, sounds and pouts, the famous Calypso Ladyboy Cabaret is a breathless blend of incredible sets, glittering costumes and thrilling musical acts. Looking and acting just like the real thing, you will be left dazzled by the show and quite possibly smitten with the many gender-straddling performers. Suitable for all the family, it’s a night out not to be missed. Day 3 Airport transfer with private vehicle, driver, and English-speaking guide. Fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. Pick up at Chiang Mai International Airport and transfer you to Noble Place hotel or equivalent. Visit Chiang Mai Art & Cultural Center which shows the lifestyle of people of Lanna Kingdom and learn how the Kingdom became more prosperous. Each section of the showrooms tells interesting stories and legends of Chiang Mai people in the past. 11.00 Visit the lifestyle of local people at a local market where the different foods, such as the bamboo worms, ant eggs, insects, vegetables and fruits are sold. You can take this opportunity to meet and greet local people. 12.00 Have lunch at a local restaurant. 13.00 Head off to Wat Phra Tat Doi Suthep, a holy and indigenous temple of Chiang Mai. It has a golden Pagoda which contains the relics of Lord Buddha. Experience the elegant scenery of Chiang Mai, surrounded by high mountains range and the cooling steam of the Mae Ping river. 17.00 Return to your hotel and relax. 19.00 Enjoy your Khantoke dinner including native foods of the north, such as fried chicken, chili sauce, pork curry( Gang Hang Le) and crispy noodles at The old Cultural Center (Vegetarian or halal food is on request) . During your meal the dances and hill tribes will be performed. Day 4 08.00 Pick up from your hotel. Then head off to Mae Taeng elephant camp . 9.30 Enjoy with the elephants at work, hauling timber logs, playing and bathing in cool streams. 10.00 Ride an elephant for 1 hour across the river and jungle to visit Lisu Tribe village. Learn their interesting lifestyle before riding an ox cart back to the camp. 12.00 Have lunch at the elephant camp. 13.00 Enjoy the bamboo rafting along Mae taeng river for 45 minutes. You will be impressed with calm and cool river and nice surrounding along the raft. 14.00 Stop by at a colorful orchid and butterfly farm . 16.00 Back to your hotel. 18.00 Feel free to have your dinner. After the meal you are on your own to take a walk to Chiang Mai Walking Street inside of the old city wall of Chiang Mai. You will see the colorful lifestyles of Lanna people while selling their native souvenirs (Open only on Sat. and Sun.) or at the colorful Night Bazaar which is opened everyday. Day 5 08.00 After breakfast, check out from your hotel. Go to Chiang Rai. 10.00 Visit Yao or Mien hill tribe villages . Yao is one of the few Hill tribe people who have their own written language, derived from historical Chinese lettering. Mien women are easily recognised by their characteristic dress. They wear a large flowing black coat, tied at the back. A large red muff lines the front of the coat. 12.00 Have lunch at a fine local restaurant. 13.00 Visit the Golden Triangle where the borderlines of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet. This place used to be the famous opium business center where was purchased with gold. 15.00 Continue your trip to Mae Sai , the northern most city of Thailand and its border of Myanmar. Enjoy your shopping at a local market. (Crossing the border is optional.) 18.00 Check in at Laluna Resort or equivalent and take a rest. 19.00 Have dinner at a fine restaurant. Day 6 08.00 Check out from your hotel. Then visit Wat Rong Khun . Be impressed with the talent of the most famoust artist of Thailand " ChalermChai". Here you will be amazed with his performance such as the unimmitatable sculptures of the Vihara; the fantastic stained glass and mosaic tile interior decoration; and the amazing paintings inside the showroom. The most beautiful wall painting of Lord Buddha in the chapel will also attract you so much. 11.00 Stop by at Karen Long neck people, the tribe who has a very interesting and remarkable lifestyle. 12.00 Have lunch at a local restaurant before head off to Chiang Khong . 16.00 Do Visa on arrival at Chiang Khong. Then cross Khong river by boat to Huay Xai check point. Upon arrival in Huayxai, check in at the immigration. Then check in at Arimid guesthouse or equivalent and take a rest. 18.00 Have dinner in the hotel on your own. Day 7 08.00 After Breakfast, check out from your hotel , begin speed boat trip along Khong river to Luang Prabang about 6 and half hours. En route stop at the famous & sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves. These caves, overlooking the confluence of the Mekong & Ou Rivers from on high, have been home to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century, when King Setthathirat found the caves and declared them a holy spot. Then stop at Ban Xang Hai, Lao Whisky Village. (Have lunch on your own at a local floating restaurant in Pak Baeng village) 17.00 Arrive at speed boat pier. Then transfer you to Manoluck hotel or equivalent. 18.00 Have dinner at a restaurant. Day 8 05.30 Get up early morning, participate Arm-Ging, hundreds of monks walk along side walk to recieve offering rice, snacks or fruits from local people and visitors. Then visit morning market where local people sell food, fruits, vegetables and animals. 8.30 After breakfast at the hotel, visit the National Museum, once a king's palace. Displayed inside is a lovely collection of personal artifacts of the royal family, including photos, musical instruments, and many gifts received from the dignitaries of foreign countries 12.00 Have lunch at a local restaurant. 13.00 Visit Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa. The rounded dome is stylistically more Sinhalese than Lao. 14.00 Continue to visit Wat Mai. Built in 1796, the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) epitomizes the graceful Luang Prabang architectural style. 15.00 Visit Wat Xieng Thong further emphasizes the uniqueness of Luang Prabang, its several roofs sweeping low to the ground. See also the impressive "tree of life" mosaic here. The gilt panel on the exterior of the chapel depicts semi-erotic episodes from the Ramayana. 16.00 Climb up Phou Sii hill stands right in the center of this small city. Climb its 350 steps to enjoy commanding views for many miles in each direction. Wat Phu Sii sits atop the mountain, along side the skeletons of Indochina war anti-aircraft guns! 17.00 Back to your hotel. 18.00 After dinner, shopping at Luang Prabang night market, where hundred of Hmong vendors display their handmade handicraft.
